Mediafeeder exists to expose musicians without exploitation. We deliver amplification without obligation \m/
🎙️ Our Publlication Policy
Mediafeeder publishes music videos on Facebook with explicit permission granted from performers, labels, agencies and other representatives. We also occassionally honour fan-sourced requests where their intent is clearly supportive. In rarer cases, we have opted to publish videos with low public visibility (e.g. low YouTube views) without being able to initiate prior contact, making the decison based on artistic merit and presumed goodwill. This has worked out well with very rare exceptions.
When we have published promo videos (the clue is in the name) without being able to seek prior approval, performers have eventually responded with gratitude not grievance. The videos we publish are informational and fully attributed, We tag the creators Facebook profile, or provide an alternative link. Our website also provides Profiles which feature known social links. This should serve as indispitable proof that we are fully engaged with the process of promoting performers.
We publish promo videos to Facebook freely. This fuels our project through reciprocated value sharing, not extraction. Money may be the root of all evil, but visibility rooted in intent is sacred. The result is quality, curated content that deserves to be seen and heard by our community. Our Collective members always receive publication priority, followed by allied performers and labels who understand that shared values are far superior to monetary ones. Visibility leads to real world support and revenue.
Our website video galleries use the YouTube API and mirrors the content we publish on Facebook. We also use our galleries to provide content which is not suitable for publication on our Facebook page. We will not accept removal requests relating to videos served from official YouTube channels. If you do not wish your YouTube videos to be embedded, disable embedding ;)
🌍 Our Influence
Our Facebook page is international by intent and our followers are actively engaged in supporting the musicians we promote. Our Facebook group offers a space for networking and self promotion. We do not have an army of fake followers to boost our presence and we do not rely on cheap tricks. We don't need either.
Our growth is organic and our conscience is collective. Our numbers do not reflect our impact because resonance matters more than reach.
Mediafeeder encompasses and represents those who empower it. We stand united by a common sense of common sense. Rock and Metal are often overlooked in mainstream arts funding and cultural preservation efforts. We aim to change this…
🚫 Our Refusal of Monetisation
- Mediafeeder does not monetise content via Facebook. Our mission is exposure, not extraction.
- All Facebook monetisation features, including Stars, Ads on Reels and in-stream ads, are disabled.
⚠️ Rights Manager Misalignment
Despite our refusal of revenue, Facebook’s Rights Manager continues to issue automated copyright claims, often erroneously. These claims assume monetisation and penalise our page, even when we’ve been granted explicit permission or received clear expressions of appreciation and approval from the associated performer or their representation. These claims are often one-sided battles with no burden of proof on the claimant(s). We receive multiple claims every day since Facebook changed their policies. This results in content blocks and restrictions on reach with nothing to be gained by the claimants, except by force.
When appeals are rejected and content is finally claimed we are usually offered a percentage of the ad revenue, something we do not want and have never received. The videos we publish do not earn revenue. Ads can be forced regardless of this fact. It's a reprehensible and rigged system with no viable opt-out and no transparency. Claimants can just ignore appeals as there is no intervention from Facebook. The system is open to abuse and it is being abused. Thankfully, Meta are investigating…
These outcomes undermine our mission, distort visibility and compromise our intent to empower musicians. It also completely rejects the rights of the performers and labels. However, it does not deter our determination. It fuels it.
Mediafeeder respects and understands your rights more than most established “rights management” entities. It is not in their accumulated interest to prioritise your rights over their ambitions of entitlement using the rights you surrendered to them. Profit is their prophet. Copyright is your control. When performers relinquish this control to rights managers they are not gaining any real protection. They are outsourcing sovereignty at a price which is often paid in a loss of visibility, reach and authorship. Their decisions are decided. Their content is claimed. Their opinion is unrequired. Their rights are wronged.
Does it not make more sense to issue your own takedown notice (where applicable) or to pay a legal professional to address serious violations. rather than fund a company (indirectly or otherwise) to decide what may count as infringement to suit their own agenda? If someone is truly violating your legal rights, you should be seeking legal justice. Rights managers are seeking suppression, strikes and revenue claims. You will not gain any compensation for any genuine violation from them. If you have opted to use a rights management company, you should still be enforcing your rights and not becoming reliant on those who only claim to represent them as part of their sales pitch.
Music Rights (and Wrongs) highlights worthwhile allies and the relentless offenders who claim content purely for profit.

Whitelisting ensures:

- Your music is not muted, geographically restricted, or falsely flagged by the mighty Meta and their alleged music rights which are often applied to content with no active rights management, no label, and no legitimate reason
- No advertising will be forced into your promotional video(s) by rights managers without your knowledge or consent
- Your reach and visibility are protected because you are exercising your rights, not surrendering them to automation
- Your published content is not being secretly exploited for profit by those you have entrusted to protect it
