The 1999 album Incidents in the Extinct Spot is another important release from the Czech metal band Parricide. This album, released after their successful debut The Threnody for the Tortured, continues the development of their unique style that combines technical and progressive death metal. The band uses complex rhythmic structures and innovative instrumentation to bring listeners an intense and challenging musical experience.

The song selection includes tracks such as "Insensitive Apathetic Cells", "Ineradicable" and "Introspection". The track "Introspection" is known for its technical skill and deep emotional impact. "Inheritance" offers complex rhythmic patterns and intense instrumentation that highlights the dark and philosophical themes of the lyrics. Also worth mentioning is the track "IF", which features intense atmosphere and surprising twists. "Internal Resurrection" delivers complex melodies and rhythms that create a deep and engaging musical experience.

Each track on the album has its own special atmosphere and even after listening to the album several times you still find something new that you have not noticed before with such an intense whirlwind of melodies, harmonies and tempo changes. Melody is one of the basic elements that define the overall musical expression of this band, along with rhythm and harmony. The songs are composed in a way that makes Parricide truly innovative and not approaching songwriting like other bands of a similar nature.

The album was re-released in 2018 in collaboration with Pařát Productions and Sanity Productions as a compilation of Incidents in the Extinct Spot and The Threnody for the Tortured. This re-release was part of the metal magazine Pařát focusing on extreme metal genres and was released as a supplement to the magazine. Sanity Productions is the copyright owner.
